Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, January 23, 2002

MINUTES OF BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
JANUARY 23, 2002

The regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on January 23, 2002, in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, I)ebbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Claudette Pumell, Leslie Crockett, Henry Couvillon.

Members absent: None

Others present: Don Neisler, Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw, Keith Washington, Butch Leger, L. J. Berthelot.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot and seconded by Mrs. Claudette Purnell, the minutes of the December 12, 2001 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Next on the agenda was the election of officers for the year 2002. This was deferred to the end of the Zoning Commission meeting.

Chairman Couvillon opened the Public Hearing on the following request for plat approval:

A request by Mr. L. J. Berthelot for re-division of Lots 28A and 29A into Lots 28A-1 , 28 A-2 and 29A-1 of the J. C. Bezet Partition located in a portion of Section 56, T8S, R12E, West Baton Rouge Parish.

Mr. Butch Leger advised the members that the utility and sewer servitudes were approved as shown.

During review of the plat the following items were discussed:

*The omission of Lot 28 A-2 in the advertisement for public hearing due to an error on the original plat submitted at the December 12, 2001 meeting. Director Don Neisler advised that it would not have to be re-advertised since copies of the revised plat were available at the Town Hall for review.

*The revisions and error corrections were marked on the original copy of the plat and a clean original is needed prior to signatures.

There was no opposition to this division of property.

A motion was made by Mr. Jules Thibodaux and seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly to recommend that the Town Council approve the plat. Motion carried unanimously.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

A motion was made by Mr. Carroll Fontenot and seconded by Mrs. Claudette Purnell to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 7:10 P.M.

REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
JANUARY 23, 2002

The regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on January 23, 2002 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order at 7:1 3 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Leslie Crockett, Claudette Purnell, Henry Couvillon.

Members absent: None.

Others present: Don Neisler, Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw, Keith Washington, Butch Leger, L. J. Berthelot, Julie LeMoine.

Upon motion of Mrs. Claudette Purnell and seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot, the minutes of the December 12, 2001 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Election of Officers for the Year 2002 was held. The new officers are Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairman and Mr. Carroll Fontenot, Vice Chairman.

Chairman Couvillon congratulated the new officers.

Chairman Couvillon was commended and thanked by the commission and members of the audience for a “job well done” during the years he served as chairman.

There was no business to come before the Zoning Commission.

A motion was made by Mrs. Rosa Stelly and seconded by Mrs. Debbie Thompson to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
