Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, February 25, 2003

MINUTES OF BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING – FEBRUARY 25, 2003

A special meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on February 25, 2003 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:00 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Henry Couvillon, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: Leslie Crockett.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw, Don Neisler, Mr. & Mrs. Dane D’ Armond, Mr. & Mrs. Danny Rabalais, Norris Decoteau, Jeff Decoteau and several local residents of the area.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded by Mr. Henry Couvillon, the minutes of the February 17, 2003 special meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

This special meeting was called for consideration of the Final Plat of Orleans Quarters Subdivision (First Filing).

Mayor Joey Normand was recognized. He recommended acceptance of the first filing of Orleans Quarters Development’s final plat. (A copy of his letter of recommendation to the Planning Commission dated February 25, 2003 is attached and made part of these minutes.) He stated that all improvements have been installed in accordance with the Town of Brusly Code of Ordinances with the exception of those changes made to the drawings referred to as “Variances” in the accompanying “Documentation Booklet”. The Mayor and the Commission reviewed the variances. The Chairperson asked if there were any questions or comments from the audience. There were none.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the Final Plat of Orleans Quarters (First Filing) with the variances numbered 1-17 as described by the Mayor and noted in the “Documentation Booklet”. Motion was seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot and was approved unanimously by the members in attendance with a roll call vote of 6 yeas. (A copy of the “Documentation Booklet” is attached to and made part of these minutes.)

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission. Mr. Jules Thibodaux made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The special meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
