Town of Brusly Landmark & Heritage Commission – May 20, 2013

Owners of five properties received Town of Brusly Landmark plaques during a ceremony at Town Hall on Sunday, May 20. Those receiving the plaques included: Shirley Guidry, for her home built by Wilbert and Rome Morales and for another house she owns, “Miss Lulu’s” House; Steve and Michele Sarradet for the home built by Fernand and Anita Sarradet; Lamar and Susan Thomas for the former home of Mayola Breaux; and Kevin and Annie Berthelot for “Mrs. Sis” LeGlue’s former home. Landmark and Heritage Commission Chairman Jim Rills presided at the ceremony, assisted by Brusly Council Member Joanne Bourgeois. Other Landmark Commission members in attendance included Henry Soniat, Jr., Sara McDempsey, Margaret Canella, Brian Falcon and Billy Hebert. Landmark plaques are funded by the Town of Brusly to recognize properties within the Town limits which are at least 50 years old. There is no charge to property owners for the plaques.
