Honoring Our Heroes

Brusly Mayor Joey Normand, Council Members Joanne Bourgeois and Don Neisler attended a ceremony sponsored and hosted by U.S. Senator David Vitter at the Louisiana Pavilion of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans on August 22nd.

The Town of Brusly officials were the invited guests of Mrs. Virgie Dickerson McCorkle, Brusly area native, whose late father, Herbert O. Dickerson, Sr., was one of the awardees. Herbert O. Dickerson, Sr. served as a Montfort Point Marine during WWII.

The patriotic program also featured musical selections and tributes by the Marine Forces Reserve Band Brass Quintet.
