Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, April 22, 2015

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
APRIL 22, 2015

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, April 22, 2015, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Commissioner Perrault led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Chairman: Kim LeMoine
Commissioners: Ronda Perrault, Jeff Travasos, Gary Soniat, Claudette Purnell, Steve Perkins
Absent: Steve Guidry

Others present included Dane D’Armond, Joanne Bourgeois, Don Neisler, Sara Simoneaux and Rosa Stelly.

A motion to approve the minutes of March 25, 2015 regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning, as written, was made by Commissioner Travasos and seconded by Commissioner Perrault. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud a variance request for Non-Compliance, Sec. 19.31.1 Zoning District R-1, Single –Family Residential, Minimum Lot Width from 80 ft. to 60 ft. requested by Dane & Bonnie D’Armond at 501 North LaBauve Avenue. Chairman LeMoine stated that the request had been granted by the Board of Adjustment for the Town of Brusly during its meeting on April13, 2015. Mr. D’Armond was recognized and explained the configuration of the property. After a brief discussion, a motion to recommend the variance to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Purnell. The motion passed unanimously.

Planning:
A. Public Hearing: Final Plat 501 N. LaBauve Avenue
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the Request for Resubdivision of Tract A into Tracts A-1 & A-2 Located in Sec. 55, T8S, R12 East Southeastern Land District West of the Mississippi River West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, for Dane & Bonnie D’Armond.
Chairman LeMoine opened the Public Hearing. Mr. D’Armond explained the request.
Hearing no comments from the public and none from the Commissioners, Chairman LeMoine closed the Public Hearing. Commissioner Perrault offered a motion to recommend approval to the Town Council; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion was unanimously.
B. Variance Request – Ryder Simoneaux – 2670 Orleans Quarters Drive – Non-Compliance-Sec.19.6 Servitude Encroachment – To Build a Patio
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the Variance Request from Ryder Simoneaux at 2670 Orleans Quarters Drive – Non-Compliance –Sec.19.6 Servitude Encroachment – To Build a Patio. Mrs. Sara Simoneaux explained the request as shown in a diagram. Following discussion, Commission Travasos offered a motion to recommend approval to the Town Council; seconded by Commissioner Perrault. The motion passed unanimously.
C. Variance Request – Tina Genusa -3324 Orleans Quarters Drive-Non-Compliance-Sec.19.6 Servitude Encroachment – To Build a Patio
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the Variance Request from Tina Genusa -3324 Orleans Quarters Drive-Non-Compliance-Sec.19.6 Servitude Encroachment – To Build a Patio.
Following discussion, Commissioner Perrault offered a motion to recommend approval to the Town Council; seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The motion passed unanimously.

A motion was made by Commissioner Travasos to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:49 PM
