MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
January 23, 2019

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, January 23, 2019, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Commissioner Soniat led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Commissioners: Steve Guidry, Kim LeMoine, Steve Perkins, Ronda Perrault,
Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent: Claudette Purnell
Others Present: Don Neisler, Lawrence Bynum, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Tullier

A motion to approve the minutes of the December 26, 2018, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Perrault and seconded by Commissioner Travasos. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Commissioner LeMoine read aloud the Variance Request from Lawrence Bynum for 820 W. Main St. for Non-Compliance – Sec. 19.31.1 Zoning District R-1 – Minimum Lot Size – to decrease lot size from 9600 square feet to 9216 square feet. Mr. Bynum explained he plans to move an existing house onto the non-conforming lot. After answering additional questions from Commissioners regarding the square footage of the house and setback requirements, Commissioner Travasos offered a motion to recommend approval of the variance request to the Town Council; seconded by Commissioner Perrault. The motion passed unanimously.

Points of Personal Privilege:
Mr. Michael Tullier introduced himself to the Commission and explained that, in the near future, he would be requesting the rezoning of 731 E. Main St. from C-1 to C-2 to allow for operating a mechanic shop.

Announcements: None
A motion was made by Commissioner Perrault to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:39 PM.
