Planning & Zoning Minutes – March 2024

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
March 27, 2024

The meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on this date, March 27, 2024, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Commissioner Perrault led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Commissioners:                     Steve Guidry, Kim LeMoine, Ronda Perrault, Cindy Popleon, Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                                  Steve Perkins
Others Present:                      Joanne Bourgeois, Don Neisler

A motion to approve the minutes of the February 28, 2024, meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Perrault and seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud and opened the floor for the variance request for Richard Soniat, 411 Gwin St., Non-Compliance Sec. 120-147 (d)(4), R-3 Single Family Residential, Minimum Living Area, reduce from 864 square feet to 619 square feet. Commissioner Soniat briefly described the intentions for the property, as far as he knew, and recused himself from the vote. After a brief discussion, a motion to send the request to the Town Council without a recommendation was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Travasos. Chairman LeMoine opened the floor for public comment. Hearing no comments a roll call vote was had with the following results:
Yeas: LeMoine, Perrault, Popleon, Travasos, Guidry
Nays: None
Absent: Perkins
Recused: Soniat

Announcements: None

Commissioner Guidry made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Popleon. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:42 PM.
