Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, February 28, 2007

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
FEBRIARY 28, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday February 28, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw, Jason Creighton.

Upon motion of, Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded by Mr. Jules Thibodaux, the Minutes of the January 24, 2007 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Election of Officers for the year 2007 was held. Mrs. Debbie Thompson was elected Chairperson and Mr. Carroll Fontenot was elected Vice-Chairperson.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:40 PM.

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
FEBRUARY 28, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday February 28, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:40 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw, Jason Creighton.
Upon motion of, Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot, the Minutes of the January 24, 2007 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Jason Creighton representing Westside Partners, LLC was recognized. He submitted a request for a 10’ variance (30’ to 20’) on the Building Setback Line for lots in the gated portion of “The Gates at the Oaks” Subdivision. He stated that the utilities were underground within the 15’ utility servitude and there was no objection from the utility departments. Mayor Joey Normand was recognized. He advised that he did not have time to discuss this matter with Don Neisler or Butch Leger, but did not see a problem. He advised that he would obtain their views prior to the Town Council Committee Meeting for March.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the front setback variance for lots 13 through 29, The Gates at the Oaks Subdivision from Thirty Feet to Twenty Feet contingent upon no objection from Mr. Neisler and Mr. Leger. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Discussion followed on the status of the River Mill Reserve Town Home project. Members were advised that the Construction Plans were submitted and a permit was issued. Also discussed were regulations on changes in construction after submittal and approval of plans.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mr. Shane Sarradet made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Steve Perkins seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6:50 PM.
