Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, January 24, 2007

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
January 24, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday January 24, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joanne Bourgeois.

Upon motion of, Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded by Mr. Shane Sarradet, the Minutes of the December 20, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Under old business the “Final Plat of the Gates at the Oaks Subdivision (1st and 2nd Filings)” was discussed. Members were advised that the Town Council approved it at the last meeting with the variance for Sec. 19-8 “Subdivisions not fronting on a Public Street” on the second filing. The Secretary advised members that the DHH approval letter has been received and the plat is ready for signatures. The need for a variance was discussed again and members felt that the Town Ordinance should be revised to address “Gated Subdivisions”.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to request that the Town Council take up this matter and make provisions in order to alleviate the need to grant a variance for any future “Gated Subdivision”. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The Secretary advised members that the Mayor granted an extension for beginning construction on the Donnie Jarreau Town Homes Project “River Mill Reserve”. Minor changes to the Preliminary Plat were submitted and the Mayor approved them administratively.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to postpone the Election of Officers since three members were absent. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The Election of Officers will be placed on the February Agenda.

Mrs. Joanne Bourgeois gave a report on the January 9, 2007 Historic District Committee Meeting.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:40 PM.

January 24, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday January 24, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:40 PM.

Members present: Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joanne Bourgeois.

Upon motion of, Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded by Mr. Shane Sarradet, the Minutes of the December 20, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mr. Shane Sarradet made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Steve Perkins seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6:41 PM.
