MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
May 31, 2006
A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday May 31, 2006 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:30 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Claudette Purnell, Steve Perkins.
Members absent: None.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Don Neisler, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joel Tingle, Wanda Cedars, Lorraine Danos.

Upon motion of Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot, the Minutes of the April 26, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.
The Chairperson opened the Public Hearing on the following request for resubdivision submitted by Joel Tingle:
“Final Plat of Map Showing the Survey of the Subdivision of Lot B into Lots B-1 and B-2 of the Phyllis B. Mulkey Estate located in Section 56, T8S, R12E, Town of Brusly, WBR Parish.”
Mayor Joey Normand was recognized. He advised that there is an existing 25’ servitude of passage to the property along the North property line and an existing servitude dedicated for utilities and drainage runs along the South property line.
Upon review of the plat, it was determined that the drainage and utilities servitude should be 15 feet instead of 10 feet and the statement for private sewer connection should be removed since this is not allowed. All other requirements were met in accordance with Section 19-8 of the Brusly Town Subdivision Ordinance. There was no objection to this subdivision.
Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to close the public hearing. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the “Final Plat of Map Showing the Survey of the Subdivision of Lot B into Lots B-1 and B-2 of the Phyllis B. Mulkey Estate located in Section 56, T8S, R12E, Town of Brusly, WBR Parish” subject to the corrections being made. Mrs. Claudette Purnell seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Plats Submitted for approval:
Final Plat of Map Showing the Survey of the Resubdivision of Lot C-1 of the Wanda B. Cedars Property located in Sec 56, T8S, R12E for Wanda B. Cedars.
The plat was reviewed and it was noted that the drainage and utilities servitude should be 15 feet and the statement for private sewer connection should be removed. All other requirements were met in accordance with Section 19-8 of the Brusly Town Subdivision Ordinance. Mrs. Cedars was advised of the corrections needed.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to send this request to Public Hearing. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Public hearing to be held on June 28, 2006.
Mayor Joey Normand announced that Mr. Shane Sarradet was re-appointed to the commission for a seven-year term.
There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.
Mr. Carol Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:45 PM.

May 31, 2006
A regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday May 31, 2006 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:45 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Claudette Purnell, Steve Perkins.
Members absent: None.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Don Neisler, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joel Tingle, Wanda Cedars, Lorraine Danos.

Upon motion of Mr. Carol Fontenot, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the Minutes of the April 26, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Members were brought up to date on the rezoning request of Mr. Donnie Jarreau. The rezoning of the Western portion of Tract X-4-A was approved for R-6 (Town Homes) and the request for rezoning of the Eastern portion of Tract X-4-A to R-4 (Apartments) was withdrawn to be re-submitted for rezoning to R-6 (Town Homes). The secretary advised that she was informed by Mr. Jarreau that he will not re-submit the application for rezoning of the Eastern portion Tract X-4-A to R-4 (Town Homes) pending marketing of the town homes to be built on the Western portion.
There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.
Mr. Carol Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6:50 PM.
