MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
OCTOBER 25, 2006
A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday October 25, 2006 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson at 6:30 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet.
Members absent: Claudette Purnell, Steve Perkins.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler,
Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw,
Mr. & Mrs. Durwin Wunstell, Cletus Langlois, and a group of
Allene Subdivision residents.
Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the Minutes of the September 27, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Cletus Langlois was recognized. He presented a Schematic Plan showing a proposed resubdivision of Lot 18-A-1, Bezet Estate Property into Lots 18-A-1-1, through 18-A-1-6 for Mr. Durwin Wunstell asking for an approval of the concept. He advised that the road meets ordinance requirements and Mr. Wunstell is aware that two manholes are required according to DHH. Discussion followed upon comments from Allene Subdivision Residents bordering the property. Mr. Don Neisler was recognized. Referring to Section 19-8-k of the Subdivision Ordinance his interpretation is different and that no more than four lots are allowed. Mr. Wunstell agreed to the change. Another concern was the width of the road and placement of garbage and recycle bins on garbage pick-up day. The Chairperson advised area residents in attendance that this matter would be taken up at the next meeting during a Public Hearing.
Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to set a Public Hearing for the next meeting to be held on November 29, 2006. Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Mr. Carroll Fontenot to set the meeting dates for November and December to Wednesday, November 29, 2006 and Wednesday, December 20, 2006 due to the holidays. Motion was seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly and carried unanimously.
There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission. Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:55 PM.

A regular meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday October 25, 2006 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson at 6:55 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet.
Members absent: Claudette Purnell, Steve Perkins.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler,
Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw,
Mr. & Mrs. Durwin Wunstell, Cletus Langlois, and a group of
Allene Subdivision residents.
Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Shane Sarradet, the Minutes of the September 27, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Under other business the Secretary announced that the Brusly Historic District Study Committee is having an Open House Forum Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 for informational purposes and to receive comments from the public on the proposed district. Mr. Ray Scriber from the State Office of Historic Preservation will address the benefits of establishing a Historic District and what is entailed in the process.
There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.
Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 7:00 PM.
